WHO IS THE COURSE FOR
To participate in this Level 6 programme, the Certificate in Human Service Compliance Management, students must be working in a human service environment for at least 10 hours per week as a team member/manager/PIC/PPIM. This is vital to the applied nature of the programme. Students come to the College with significant life and work experience. This enables learners to gain insights from their workplace and life experiences while applying theory into everyday practice.
WHY TAKE THIS COURSE
This Level 6 Special Purpose Award (20 ECTS credits) will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how to manage effectively in today’s regulated Human Service Sector while supporting staff in a manner that meets requirements set out in employment law.
The programme aims to provide participants with knowledge on the origins and rationale for regulations; how to prepare for and engage positively with inspections as well as an understanding and development of the necessary competencies required to abide by employment law when it comes to managing staff.

Assessment
- The course is assessed through a combination of completing two assignments which also consist of associated online activities.
- Each module is assessed by way of Continuous Assessment and contributes 50% to overall assessment results.
- It is an applied course so students must be working at least 10 hours per week in an appropriate work environment.
- A significant proportion of assessment marks are allocated to the student's application of what they learn in a real-world setting.

Qualification
Participants who have successfully completed the two components will obtain a QQI HET (*subject to final QQI Validation):
- Certificate in Human Service Compliance Management Special Purpose Award*
Progression Route Option
Students gain an award of 20 credits at Level 6 which may be used, or accumulated with other programmes, to allow exemption/advanced entry onto cognate programmes at the same level.
Note: This course is complimented by an additional two OTC micro-credential management programmes, namely Human Service Manager Skills and the third, below, currently in development - coming soon in 2026.
These three accessible and flexible management micro-credential courses combined will equate to a Level 6 Special Purpose Award of 60 credits, the equivalent of the former Certificate in Applied Management (CAM) course in relation to credits and NFQ level.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To apply you must:
• be either 23 years of age when you apply; OR
• have successfully completed a Leaving Certificate/QQI/FETAC Level 5 Certificate
• be working in a human service environment for at least 10 hours per week as team member/manager/PIC/PPIM.
International applicants must provide appropriate documentary evidence of proficiency in English (i.e. IELTS 6.0)
