This is a programme for those working in the disability sector or with families of people with disabilities. The course is aimed at staff in the disability sector whose role involves:
– Interacting with or supporting the families of the people you support
– Facilitating advocacy/person centred plans with people using the service; and/or
– Performing a supervisory role within an organisation that supports advocacy/PCP
This six-week course is designed to provide you with a working knowledge of the importance, role and function of Human Resource Management, particularly in relation to the not-for-profit and human services sector.
This professional development course, Certificate in Empowerment and Advocacy, equips the student with the knowledge, skills and competencies to support people with disabilities in empowering themselves on a day-to-day basis, thus facilitating self-defined visions of a desirable future.
This programme of study on becoming a better coach and mentor has been developed for the experienced manager who currently holds a senior post within the organisation or aspires to hold such a post in the future. This manager is interested in further developing their existing professional competencies in order to progress the work of the organisation within the human services sector and within wider society.
The Exploring Disability course will introduce you to the theories and models that have:
• Shaped our understanding and awareness of what life is like for people with disability
• Influenced how disability services have developed and operated in Ireland
Supervision for PICs aims to equip PIC’s with the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies in order to provide effective supervision and support to frontline staff members working in residential units.
This OTC-certified, six-week course examines employment law as a management issue for the human services and non-profit sector. Successful completion of the course should lead to improved better Employment practice, encourage the quality agenda and contribute towards improved organisational excellence for you and your team.
This six-week course encourages the student to reflect on the importance of getting regulation and inspection right within their role and the impact both have on the organisation, staff and service users.
This 11-week, Level 6 Special Purpose Award (20 ECTS credits) will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of both the challenges and opportunities that exist in the management of frontline services and of supports within today’s Human Service Organisation. It also meets the management qualification requirements set out in the HIQA Standards.
